2008 NEWS FROM SEED IN SIERRA LEONE

SEED President visits:

Dorcas Kamanda, SEED International President, returned to Sierra Leone in June and July this year. She stayed four weeks and made visits to Freetown and Kabala Offices. While in Sierra Leone she held numerous meetings with staff, local people benefiting from the different programs managed by SEED, community leaders and partner organizations. It was a fast trip but gave the organization new direction and energy. See the complete report of her visit and the work of SEED in Sierra Leone by clicking on President’s Report 2008. Dorcas returned to the US to attend the SEED Annual Board Meeting in Colorado.

NEW VOLUNTEERS:

SEED recently welcomed Leah Harrison and Adrienne Melissen to its staff team in Kabala, Sierra Leone. They left the United States and Canada, respectively, to work for a full year as unpaid volunteers. Leah will serve as Program Coordinator while Adrienne is working full time as a nurse in the NarSarah Clinic. They were greeted with overwhelming enthusiasm from the community and are equally excited to be in Kabala surrounded by the beauty and warmth of the people in Kabala.
